Prices come from the public model catalog on OpenRouter and are refreshed daily, so the table tracks published list prices instead of a hand-maintained spreadsheet that quietly goes stale. Models with no published price are dropped, except free endpoints — those stay in the table flagged as rate limited, because a $0 model you can only call a handful of times an hour prices differently than the number suggests.
Cost per call is (input ÷ 1M × input price) + (output ÷ 1M × output price) + (reasoning ÷ 1M × output price), and total cost is that figure multiplied by your number of API calls. Reasoning tokens are billed at the output rate — on reasoning-heavy workloads they often cost more than the prompt and the visible answer combined, which is why they get their own column instead of being folded into output.
By tokens takes counts directly. By words estimates token counts from text you paste, which is useful when you have a real prompt but not a tokenizer handy. Either way the numbers are standard list rates: prompt caching, batch APIs, and committed-use discounts all land below what you see here, so treat these as the ceiling for a workload, not the invoice.
